So, yes, I heard this on 90210. I'm a little bit embarrassed. But it hit so close to home with me that I have been thinking about it ever since Naomi and Guru Sana had their little pow-wow about it. I think it is a wonderful lesson:
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
I think it's really important to surround yourself with people who help to feed the good wolf inside you. And to recognize when the bad wolf is gnawing at your bones. Don't let him! Don't let him!
Anyhoos. Just thought I would share. Plus, K is a little bit Cherokee. Maybe this was his greatgreatgreatgreatgreat grandpa. Probably.
Hope your good wolf has a full belly today!
Until Next Time,
The Guff
