Tofurkey & Daiya Cheese

Chamblee will be 6 months old next Tuesday. Huh? What? Yeah, I said it. She's getting so big. So big, in fact, she needs a new car seat. Right now I have to fold her in half, which she LOVES, drop her in and then hold down her hips so she doesn't do a back bend outta that thing. Now that she's sitting up on her own I would like to be able to just sit her in there. All smiles. I have done so much research on convertible car seats that I'm burnt out! The ones that rate the best -for the most part- are also the best at breaking the bank. Yike! I had my heart set on getting this seat:
The Maxi Cosi Convertible seat in Lily Pink. However, I haven't seen any reviews or safety tests that list this as a top choice. Boo. It's so dang cute.
{Open invitation for anyone to find said review and send it to me so I can get this seat!!!}

Since my Chamblee's dream seat is kind of not an option, I have pretty much decided on the Britax Roundabout 50 in Smokey Pearl. It's cute, but it's no Lily Pink.

Not only is it affordable, but it scores high on crash tests and it's reviews are 4+ star. I just can't pull the trigger! I keep thinking that she's still too little to have such a big girl seat! It's going to be a drastic change- having to carry her into a place  *gasp* not in her car seat. And what if she's asleep? I guess I have to just wake her up. Hm.

Anyway. That's what's new with the bunny. That, and our new purchase:
How. Have I gone 6 months without one? If you are doing cloth diapers, you have to have this. Period. It is AWESOME!

Do ya'll watch Oprah? I don't usually, but I saw a topic on a commercial that I wanted to see, so I recorded it. It was about being Vegan. I didn't eat meat for about a year {a few years back} not for any real reason other than to see if I could do it. I could. It almost killed K, I think, and the night he proposed I had my first red meat again. It was delicious. Anyway, Oprah and her staff did a 7 day challenge to eat vegan. I thought it was a good idea. So, I went to Whole Foods and picked up a few things. Last night we had Tofurkey & green peppers on buns that were made with no dairy products and topped with Daiya's mozzerella "cheese".  It was DELICIOUS. You really could not tell that it was not meat, or dairy. I swear. Don't think it will stick mostly because it's so expensive. 2 cups of the Daiya cheese= $5. Like, whoa. Plus, I really, really like cheese. The real kind. I can totally see me leaning toward vegetarian again... ... ... sorry K.

Until Next Time,
The Guff

  1. I obviously know nothing about car seats... The pink is cute but the second option is a little more gender neutral. Ya know, in case babies to come (whenever that may be) aren't baby girl Guffeys!
    I didn't see Oprah but I have seriously been considering the vegetarian route. I am preparing myself for CSB to break off the engagement, LOL!

  2. oh no you don't--not ANOTHER challenge!!! all kidding aside, it would be good to see if it made me FEEL better to have no red meat...as long as coffee is allowed, I am willing to try. Your daddy made the BEST hamburgers Monday night, though....mm mm mm.
