Time For Bed

Yeah, everybody's talkin' about the snow. It really is crazy. We got about 7 inches altogether, and the top layer is ice. So when I ran out this morning with my rain boots on to make a snow man and throw snowballs- it actually hurt to step through it. I huffed and puffed and crunched back inside. The roads here are really nasty and, for the most part, closed down. For a couple of days, anyway, the highway that is our backyard appears to be a quiet and blanketed prairie. Can't it snow always? Anyway. I started off with a pretty typical day. It began with coffee and I got a jump on straightening the house. As I folded a blanket from last night's movie, K unfolded it right back and fell into the couch. "It's a snow day. I'm gonna be using this blanket." That set the tone for the day. Other than the occasional trip outside for the oh-so-necessary photo-op, we have been PJ wearin', fire pokin', movie watchin' fools all day. We've morphed into frozen pizza eatin', football watchin', beer/wine drinkin' parents. With the baby down we are finally having time for each other today. Sharing a 'cheers' and a blanket.

My favorite part of K being 'snowed in' from work? Hearing him play the guitar through the monitor when he puts Cham down for her nap. Gah, yank at my heart strings, will ya? Today was the first time that I read to her before I put her down and, yes, I know she doesn't understand. But she pretended to. She sat still on my lap and listened intently while I read "Guess How Much I Love You" and "Time For Bed". I definitely recommend "Time For Bed" to all parents. I have a feeling this will be a favorite for me and Cham! ;) (Thanks, HBC!) I just can't believe she is 5 months old! Can't. Believe it.

Is everyone anyone watching the National Championship game? I just can't pull for Auburn. I know that I should be pulling for the SEC, but I can't. It isn't in me. I could pull for South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida any team that doesn't wear orange. I'm not exactly pulling for Oregon- I just don't have a dawg in the fight. So. I just. can't. pull. for Auburn.
Hey- ya'll know I have another niece or nephew comin' in a few weeks, right? Just sayin'. It's baby fever all around me and I can't get enough. Who's next? You? 'Cuz it ain't me! Yeah, I know what a jinx means. Whatev. I currently have 7 friends & family members with child. You know these things happen in 3's. So. Who's it gonna be......?!!! ;)

Until Next Time,
The Guff
