She get it from her Mama...

On Saturday, I channeled my friend Alaina and decided to go thrift shopping. I was on the lookout for furniture to refinish, some containers for my craft nook or anything that might catch my eye.

I found a few things and at the end of the day spent only $14! Here is what I found:

I got the glass jars to store buttons and nick-nacks in my craft nook! I got the wall shelf to hold the jars and other containers that I have. I am going to sand it down and paint it. I don't know what color, though. The room is currently decorated in off white & black damask. Color needed! Any ideas welcome! I got the kid's chair to paint and stack Chamblee's books on until she gets a big girl book shelf in her room. Something like this:

The mail collector is in really great shape! I want to paint it a color and cover up the date numbers. I want to use it to hold all of my stationary. I have kind of  a problem with paper. I love buying stationary. Thank You cards, blank cards, funny cards, birthday cards... I 100% straight up get it from my mama. I'll buy cards all year around and then when it's someone's birthday or Easter or whatever, I just look in my box and pick a card. My own little Hallmark. It has a small little drawer to store pens and stamps and maybe even a little address book. So cute.

Next I went to Home Depot to look at their oops paint. They didn't have any fun colors so we bought 4 samples to put on the walls.

If you guys are in the mood for some online "thrifting" go over to The Adventures of Ordy & Joon. My gal pal is doing another giveaway and even has an online Yard Sale going on. Don't get too excited, though. I am buying most of it!

Hopefully it won't take years to get Before & After pictures up of my refinishing projects. I am going to shoot for getting them started tomorrow! Tomorrow is a holiday, so K is home. Again. I could get used to this ;)

Until Next Time,
The Guff

  3. guess you're right...I straight up have a small dresser full of pretty stationary and cards....sometimes I just like to "go through them" to see if I can remember what was going on when I bought them....
I think I should write someone a note every week and use them all up, so I can buy more!! ;0)
