This weekend has been FAB! Friday K came home super early from work and brought me these:
Not one, but two bouquets of tulips! Ah! Gorgeous.
The day was beautiful- and the sunlight coming in through the windows was truly magnificent! I just couldn't help but to put Ophie up on the table and capture some shots:

Speaking of table... ... ... Remember this little lady?
We spent our day today giving her a makeover. We started out by sanding the whole thing, priming it, painting it and then distressing it. Phew! It took all day, but it was so worth it. She looks incredible:

I thought I wanted to stain the top of the table darker, but after we sanded it a little bit and wore the gloss off, I decided that I really liked the color. I decided to go with a dark grey that I found at Home Depot in the Oops paint section. 1 gallon cost $5! We used the same color grey to paint our half bathroom downstairs- which we also started today. I am dumb and I forgot to take a before picture, but imagine 'apartment beige'. Here she is in the middle of the project:
What else could we possibly have done this weekend?
Well, we drove to Kennesaw Saturday to pick up an island that we bought on Craigslist for my kitchen!!!
It doesn't match my kitchen cabinets exactly, but it is SO pretty. The top is all butcher block. Dy. Ing. I can't decide if I am going to live with the mismatch or eventually refinish it. For now I just like looking at it. It adds so much counter and prep space to my kitchen! I got to use it tonight when I made pesto chicken and zucchini bites:
Seriously. I made that. Pick your jaw up off the floor. The pesto chicken was basically chicken cooked on the skillet in pesto oil, then rubbed with pesto and topped with parmesan cheese. The zucchini bites are just cold zucchini {or squash} with cream cheese, olives and chives. DELISH.
Our next project? A dining room cabinet that we found at a consignment shop last weekend:
Can't. Wait.
Until Next Time,
The Guff

how exciting for all the new fun things!
