Food Stamps

I am a big fan of planning. Everything. K pretty much hates it. He likes to fly by the seat of his pants. Anyway. The whole planning thing is fun for me, so it comes as no surprise that I meal plan for the week. Every Sunday afternoon. Most of the time I rotate about 12 things that we always have and sometimes I throw a wrench in for good measure. Something I have never made before. Usually I do this on a night that we already have leftovers... ... ... just in case. Here's our meal plan for this week:

Monday- Lemon Basil Chicken Penne Pasta {Pioneer Woman}
Tuesday- Fish Tacos & Corn
Wednesday- Broccoli Lasagna
Thursday- Leftovers
Friday- Grilled Chicken & Vegetables {from the grill}
Saturday- Chicken Casserole & Homemade Whipped Potatoes
Sunday- Leftovers. Cereal. PB&J. Whatever you can find.

This is the first week that I have 2 leftover days. I'm kinnof sick of throwing food away and also paying for ingredients to a meal that I never get to make because they go bad before we run out of leftovers. We'll see how it goes. Also this week I am trying 3 new things. Yike. Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are all new to me. But they looked/sounded delicious. My friend Laina and I have been recipe swapping recently and I love it. Makes me want to have a covered dish / recipe swappin' party. How lame have I become? Not lame. There would be wine. Ok... A little lame.

I just asked K what we did for dinner before I stayed home. He said we ate at like 9 and he cooked dinner. I kinnof remember that... but it also makes me roll my eyes. I used to get off work at 4. Why didn't I make dinner? Bum.

Here's Cham having a little snack for herself. Bananas.

Oh, you want to see her in action? Ok.

Her top 4 teeth are in and razor sharp. She has already bitten K and almost drawn blood. This is where I am relieved {a little} to not still be breastfeeding. Yowza. And yes. There are baby toys strewn about from our bedroom through the hallway, into the guest room and down the stairs like she's the tasmanian devil. And yes. I clean them up every time she naps. Which is kind of ridiculous.

Until Next Time,
The Guff

  2. I don't mean to say that I love Cham and fish tacos in the same way, or the same amount. FYI.

  3. That is the wierdest looking banana i've ever seen...Good luck with all your new recipes! the Fish taco's are sooo easy and here's a little tip for the lemon basil pasta if you are gonna eat it the next day make a little more sauce or just don't put it all on the pasta and save it to put on the leftovers so it doesn't dry up :)
    good luck!
