Time has flown by! I can't believe in no time at all we will be bringing home our little man. Projects are full under way and there are only a couple of things not scratched off the list. Those things are my things. K has completed his list. Efficient little rascal.
Chamblee is really excited about baby Jake.
She's learned his name and really loves trying to pull my shirt up and give him a swift pat on the back.
She's also in a double bow phase. That's right. In the morning when I let her pick out her clothes, she's also started picking out her hair bow for the day. Some mornings she needs two. I personally love those mornings.
I gotta say, her smiles get better every day.
What makes her smile always? Her slinkies.
Bless her little heart.
I'm soaking in every little second we get to spend just the 2 of us.
Won't be long until we have to share our days. Our cuddles. Our meals. Our adventures.
Until then I'll rock her a little longer and kiss her a little more often.
I'll stare at her a little longer and squeeze her a little tighter.
She's my best little friend.

I know I've told you about the night before Bud was born. Haven't I? When the time for me to go to the hospital, I went into sleeping Pixie's room and just bent over her little bed and kept patting and kissing her and telling her I loved her, because I knew that was it. I think J was a little afraid I would wake. her. up, but all I could think was that it would never be the same again--just the two of us. And it wasn't. It was wonderful, and not the same. So I love that you are soaking it up now even while y'all are looking forward to Jakef. I love you! (Oh, my word. I'm tearing up in a coffee shop).

ReplyDeletei love the double bows, and the slinkie smiles of your sweet buddy. And l.o.v.e the name Jacob/Jake. It's my granddaddy's name and it's always been one of my favorites. Can't wait to see if you finally have a mini-me or if he is going to look like daddy too!!
