On Saturday K and I took the little hoot to the GA Aquarium for the first time. None of us had ever been and so we decided to brave the Saturday crowd. Don't ever do that. Ever. {Unless you have annual passes}. The lines were. insane. Thankfully we have annual passes so we got to scoot right up front and head inside. That didn't make it much better- the place was so incredibly packed... it was hard to get to the viewing windows and when we did it was hard to get pictures like I wanted to. Oh well. K held the bunny through every exhibit and got to show her the whole world of fishies! She was in awe! She pointed and gazed and giggled her way through the world's largest fish bowl.
Waiting in line to get our passes.
She wore her fishie shorts for the occasion!
First picture with daddy
Her head was looking up the whole day!
Big exhibit {My favorite!}
Worn out!
Ophie was such a champ the whole day- but you could tell she was ready to get her hands on her owlie and get some sleep! She passed out before we backed out of our parking spot.
On the way home, K said to me, "Just so you know, you should start getting ready around 6." I had no idea what he was talking about. Apparently he had arranged a big ol' date and a babysitter for that night! Awesome! We ended up getting a private cabana at Park Tavern and having the best date ever in my life. We had a "make your own sushi" dinner and drinks. {shirley temple for me- woop!} The weather was perfect, our table was right center on the skyline and sunset and we just had the best time. I am so blessed to have a husband who is romantic! And cute. And funny :) We are also so fortunate to know and LOVE our babysitter!
Sunday we had some friends over for a cookout and it was awesome! Steaks, Tuna, Salmon, Potato Skins, Salad and Ice Cream was on our menu. We have so much food in our fridge leftover it is crazy!
I'm so thankful to have great friends to share time with, a home to be able to meet in, and a table for all of us to sit around and EAT.
Oh my gosh This is gonna be boring, but I have to tell you what I found with my friend SP last week. I have been looking for something to go on our kitchen wall- it is a huge beige blank wall. I am ob.sessed. with windows and every time I find a big ol' window they are in the $100's and I'm too cheap to pay for 'em. While perusing the Classy Flea on 41 last week I found a 16-pane distressed window for $30. I gave the clerk the tag and kept looking around. Well, I found ANOTHER one, same price, but it looked a little more distressed and the style I was going for. So I switched tags, paid for it and headed out the door. SP's awesome fiance was on his way to meet us so he was gonna put it in his truck for me. Well, of course, I started to feel lousy and sick and Cham Cham had literally passed. out. all. the. way. in the back seat, so I headed home and SP and Ordy were gonna just go pick it up for me. When they did... she texted me... "Um, this window is 20 panes!" I was so excited. The thing is humongous.

Humongous and Awesome.
We are trying to decide exactly what to do with it- Fabric behind? Hanging banner? Paint the wall? Hanging tiny plants? A mix of it all? C'mon you design guru's. Tell me your ideas so I can steal 'em. And give you full credit, of course.
Until Next Time,
The Guff

i love love your hair, and i love the pics of y'all and cham at the aquarium and that k took you on a romantic date and i can't wait to see what you do with that incredible window! i still vote for fabric behind with plants and maybe a pretty garland hanging from it?? you have so many options!
ReplyDeletewell you could drop it out of the back of your car and bust all the panes. Then have Laina put chicken wire behind it. Oh wait that's just me.
ReplyDeleteI have still never been to the aquarium! It looks you all had a fun trip. Also, love the hair!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I am REALLY glad you blog. :) Some days it makes me feel not so far away to see an update and pictures.
