Baby Baby

I don't know why it took me a year, but today, while giving the bunny a bath I had an epiphany. I don't have to use a new towel and wash cloth for her every time. Duh. I was just sitting there thinking about how I needed more baby sized towels and then a little voice in my head came on the loud speaker and said, "use a towel twice, idiot." Seriously.

Everyone told us to buy 3 or 4 Owlies. In case we lost one or one got so badly beat up. I appreciate the info, but this girl knows who her real Owlie is. We bought a second one for the sake of "in case". I tried to get her to go down for a nap with it so I could give the nasty, vanilla wafer and spit smelling Owlie a much needed bath. Right. She looked at me like, "woman, please." I held up both of them to see if she knew the difference and she grabbed the stinky original and crawled across her crib as fast as her ninja legs would take her. The "backup" is now a toy that she tosses around downstairs. We can never lose the real deal.

Today we are getting a new front door and all new windows in our house! The original windows are still in the house right now and our electric bill is insane in the membrane. Insane in the brain! So I'm really happy to be getting a new set. And our front door won't wake up the neighborhood when you open it  anymore. I'm also really glad that I bought a whole bunch of old windows for crafts and decoration a couple weeks ago. That was smart. I'm giving a lot of our old ones away to crafty friends who have already called dibs, but if anyone wants some old windows let me know- I'm sure there will be plenty.

I need to write about Cham's birthday party, and I will. Eventually.

I really want to invite everyone I know to our church. I think it might be weird to just be like, "Hey, do you want to come to church with me?" every time I started a conversation with someone, but it's kinda what I think about. I'm so grateful that we found a church home and that we love it and that Cham likes going to nursery and they love her there. We get a "Heyyyyyyy Chamblee!!! Yay! Chamblee's here!!!" every week and she's happy when we pick her up- an hour past her bedtime. Of course, they do pronounce it Shamblee, but ya gotta give a little I guess. So y'all come to church with me and my friends next week. Ok?

I'm kind of scared of October. We have more going on than I can even fit on my kitchen calendar. I'm pretty sure September is my only shot to be sane before the baby comes... October will feel like a day and then we begin Holiday season. And then I'm 9 months pregnant. I know it is a really long way away, but February just sounds so close. Yike.

Speaking of baby, I think we are going to be the parents deciding on a name in the delivery room. Boy names are much harder than girl names. Besides that, we have had a second girl name picked out since before Cham was even born. Oh, right. Rewind. Yes! I did say boy name. We don't have the official word yet, but our ultrasound gave us some pretty convincing evidence that baby guff #2 will be a little brother! Is this the year of boys or WHAT?! So. Pumped.

I know it's weird but I get a huge sense of accomplishment when in one swoop of the spoon I can get all of the extra food off of Cham's face at mealtime.

I love shopping with her. She sticks her little hands out and I scootch over closer to the clothes racks so she can feel the fabric. Then I get a solid "weeeeeee!" out of her. It's her favorite thing. She's my favorite thing.

shopping today with her friend

Until Next Time,
The Guff

  1. Oh. My. Word, I love her so much. I love you so much. I am dying laughing about the towel thing. And, our back-up nite-nite never took off, either. We have smart girls. Plus, I think they LIKE that stinky smell...
