My peeps

Day 5: Your Siblings

Lucky for me, my parents wanted to have lots of children. Or not. Either way, they did. I kid, I kid. I'm positive they wanted all of us- despite what my brothers told me growing up. I had the best birth order, in my opinion. The baby. I had a big sister to teach me how to dance and bribed me with sleeping rights with her poofy white stuffed dog and collector's Barbie doll. I had 2 big brothers to be overprotective and embarrassed of me. I gleefully agreed to be their guinea pig when it came to new wrestling moves and questions of "Do you think we can clear those holly bushes? Nat, you try first." No, you can't. And turns out- jumping into a holly bush doesn't feel good.

I couldn't have asked for better siblings. We are all so different and so close. It's an amazing thing they did- my parents- raising us all in an environment that promoted playing together outside instead of watching TV. Letting the conspiracy to wear pillows in our pants- when we were both due for a spanking- bring us out of an argument & laughing together again. Allowing our imaginations turn the couch cushions into a pirate ship and the dress closet into New York Fashion Week. Encouraging us to naturally grow to love and respect each other more than enough to take care of each other when they aren't around to.

I can't imagine life without any one of them- and I'm glad I don't have to.

Until Next Time,
The Guff
