No luck with the yard sales, but triple-wammy-wowza luck with fun times on the stroll back to our little plot. I saw a dandelion, and while I know they are weeds, I think they are beautiful, magical little weeds.
It occurred to me that Chamblee had never seen one. Never blown through one. Never. I almost feel guilty sometimes- being the one to realize these things, and show her for the first time without K to see. Which is why my phone is always on my hip. Must. record. these. moments. Her reaction didn't disappoint. She is so full of wonder. Squeals and gasps and hands over a dropped jaw. "More? More?" Unfortunately, and fortunately, for us, our neighbors like to keep pretty tidy yards, so these weeds were few and far between. But oh, the delight when she would spot one from afar. In between there were repetitions of, "Where are you 'lions?" While she can say dande- and -lion, she hasn't quite mastered 4 syllable words yet. "Lions, where are you?"
Now in the car we have added to our conversation. She says hello to the trees, the birds and the sky. She waves and says bye-bye to passing cars. And she now wonders, "Where are you lions?"
Until Next Time,
The Guff
