Butterfinger & Bib

Last week I made homemade Butterfingers via this recipe from Pinterest. They were so easy and so, so delicious. Literally 3 ingredients and 20 minutes. I skipped picture taking until things got interesting-ish.

1. Melt a bag of candy corn in the microwave.
2. Mix candy corn & peanut butter in a bowl, then spread it out on a cookie sheet.
3. Let cool. I put it in the fridge to hurry it up. I wanted to eat them ASAP.
4. Cut into squares. I used a pizza cutter.

If you want all perfect squares for your bars, just eat the crooked ones:)

4. Melt down your chocolate dipping sauce. Most people would use 'sweet' and not 'semi-sweet' chocolate but I thought it was better for our family to use 'semi-sweet'. K doesn't like things too too sweet.

5. Create a dipping station. The recipe says to use wax paper, but I used aluminum foil and it was just fine.

6. Just dip the squares into the chocolate and sit them on a cookie or drying sheet over aluminum foil.

7. Sit them in the fridge to harden!

Mine weren't as smooth as the recipe picture. Probably because Chamblee was fiercely pulling at my leg and my neighbor called me right in the middle of the dipping process. Like a ding-dong, I answered and thought I could juggle baby/babble/butterfinger at once. Wrong. The taste was not bothered by my distraction. They were to.die.for. Try them! So easy.

Another easy, peasy, 30 minute project that day? A reversible bib. For my brother's baby girl. She's eating avocados and making a mean mess. This was my first bib so I hope it fits. Anyway, here's to hoping she doesn't mind being my little bib guinea pig.

1. Pick your fabrics and fold them in half on top of each other. Then trace a pattern and start cuttin'.

2. Have a tornado come through.

3. And leave evidence. (I spy an owl foot)

4. Should look like this:

5. Unfold and pin edges.

6. Sew all the way around, leaving a small gap at the bottom to turn bib inside out.
7. Turn bib inside out and sew up the gap at the bottom.
8. Cut two small pieces of velcro (or snaps) and sew onto opposite sides of the top of the bib.
(sorry, I forgot to take pictures for these last few steps)
9. Wah-Lah. The easiest bib you have ever made.

I should have embroidered it. Oh well.
Happy Monday!

Until Next Time,
The Guff
