Treasures & Transformations

Yo Yo!

Hope y'all are doing WELL! I am happy to show you guys some treasures that I have found & also some things that I have been working on- from the the inspiration to the final product. Enjoy!

I have been really into typography art lately, and I found this quote while searching around on Etsy. It's not really my style, and I wasn't going to pay $35 for it anyway, so I stole the quote {from the Bible} and made my own. I paired it with another saying, "The Guffey Family ... Est. 2009" and Wah Lah:

Next up- another typography project. Also found on Etsy, this print made me smile:
BUT not a $35 smile.
So I turned to a frame I got at the thrift store, some spray paint and made my own:
I have always had trouble with organizing my jewelry... especially earrings! SO my oh-so-talented friend over at Recycled Interiors made this amazing earring holder. It's an old frame with fabric and chicken wire. Genius! They are for sale on Etsy anywhere from $15-$40. I paid $8!

Side Note: My friend Alaina also makes RAD camera strap covers. Go check 'em out! Here's one she made just for me:

Ok. Check out this beautiful antique mirrored window pane:
Too bad for me it was $125 online. Boo.

So I shopped around at local antique stores in Decatur and found THIS beaut for a mere $22. Score.

Yard Sales make me SO happy. And if they aren't junk, SO broke. I found this at a yard sale for $5!

I love her so. much.

Clearly, I'm on a roll...

I didn't find this treasure, but my friends did and they made me buy it. I'm SO glad!

The glass lamp! The middle rod and base were a tacky gold so -of course- I spray painted them a dark teal to match our bedroom curtains and other accessories in our room. This lamp at Target? $50. My price? $3.

Another project that was handed to me by my thrifty friends- Menu chalkboard and shelf to match:

This started as a gold frame and a tacky picture on foam board and was missing glass... Perfect to make a chalkboard. I spray painted the frame and painted chalk paint over the foam picture board. Add a yummy menu and game over.

These are just some of the things that have been going on around here. I have so many more things to share! Hopefully next time I will remember to take BEFORE pictures!!!

Until Next Time,
The Guff

  1. Can't WAIT to see your house!! And, I've been searching Amazon for a jewelry holder...but finding nothing I wouldn't want to hide in a closet. Which would defeat the purpose. Maybe we'll just have to make one!
