Love & Life

*photo overload*

As if you didn't notice. It's hot out. We've been trying to keep cool and enjoy the outdoors, but it's just so. dang. hot. 106? No thanks. Even Chamblee said, "too hot mommy." I agree.

Here's what we have been doing:

Swinging.

You didn't think she swung alone, did you? She would never, ever forget Owlie. Why, he's her best friend.

Tracing.
Jake. Cham. Owlie.
I have three children.

Sunhat & Ponytail included.

Visiting.
We went to my brother's house for July 4.

yet another white shirt ruined by watermelon.
She loves it.
I can't, for the life of me, remember a bib.

Hop Scotch

Popsicles

drip...drip...

Yes, I know. You might be thinking I only have one child. Truth is, the baby baby is usually asleep or strapped in a carrier when I'm documenting these things. Have you seen what self portraits look like with a baby strapped to your front? It's a hard thing to accomplish without a mirror. Or a big ol' chin in the way. So, for good measure:
wakes up happy

be still my beating heart. Oh, I love him.

baby blues. whaaaaaaaat.

I love these kids.

I also love my husband. And some alone time. We went to Chattyoa couple weekends ago. Dropped the kids off with his family, and headed to our hotel downtown. Ahhhhh. We had dinner alone. brunch alone. lunch alone. We slept in. We laid by the pool. all. day. We laid in bed & watched TV. We sat in the quiet. We read. We took our time. We talked. Real, adult conversation- nothing about the kids. No "who's pooped today and what did it look like?"

be still my beating heart. Oh, I love him.

I was standing there, drinking a cold beer, with my husband, listening to our good friend play in this band Friday night... and I thought. We are just so blessed. Not only for this love and this life, but with family who make nights weekends like this possible. Not just because they will watch our babies, but because they really, really want to. And they love them so much. It's such a good feeling. I could finish a whole meal and not wipe a nose & I could get a shower without a little face peeping in. I didn't worry one bit about them. Not one. I did miss them. I did pout over the lack of photos sent while we were away... but it was so nice. So, so nice.

Holding my breath until our next vacay...

Until Next Time,
The Guff
