Times are a'changing, though. Now, instead of milk, I am gulping down Prune Juice. That's right. Prune Juice. Contrary to popular belief, there is pain worse than delivering a baby. It's called having a bowel movement with a 4th degree tear. I said it. Yowza! Instead of blow drying my hair, it goes up in a pony. Instead of makeup- well, there's nothin'. Instead of big girl clothes, I throw on sweats and a shirt that's easy boob access for feedings. It's not cute- and if you've stopped by to meet the babe, you've seen it first hand. Yike. My apologies.
I am loving that I can eat what I want now that I am not pregnant, and I want to thank all of the desserts that were brought by and made by my mother for making it dang near impossible to lose any baby weight! Actually I have lost almost 20 of the 30 pounds I gained so far- Thank you breastfeeding!- I just have quite a bit of toning to accomplish. And by 'quite a bit' I mean I still look about 3-4 months pregnant. I know it's only been 10 days, but come on! Shrink already!
Cham Cham got her first bath last week and loved every second. Not. She wasn't horrified, but she definitely would prefer to stay dry. I just couldn't resist putting her in her too-big, but too-adorable robe and slippers afterwards:
Chamblee's First Bath!
I couldn't resist the bow. She has enough hair for them, but her head is still so tiny, they just make me giggle when I clip 'em on. Don't be confused by the look on her face- she loves it.
Until Next Time,
The Guff

Oh my word, she looks so much like you did as a little baby! I can't wait to snuggle her!...and I LOVE her robe & slippers (so does Carmen).
ReplyDeleteshe is sooo stinkin adorable :) and you look GREAT!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! :)
ReplyDelete"The times, they are a-changin'"..I thought you were going to talk about changing the diapers!! (haha)but as I read it, I was humming Bob Dylan. I thank you for allowing me to have free "rein" in your home for the time I was there...miss you all...eat the last peach!
ReplyDeleteFear not...Breastfeeding WILL shrink that tummy and pull all your abused internal organs and muscles back into place...it's called "Toning Up God's BEST Way"... I also put on my regular "pre-preggo" slacks/jeans and that HELPED push & hold my tummy in and force it back into pre-baby mode. And fighting constipation is a normal, but unpleasant, side effect of giving birth. I like prune juice okay, but eating grapes daily was MUCH more yummy and they do the same thing and kept me from having to strain to go to the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteAlso for future needs, if your sweet Chamblee starts having gas or colic and starts waking up at odd hours...then get yourself a vibrating massager wand. I plugged that sucker in and massaged Dalton and Bailey front and back, over their teeny little feet and hands too...and the crying stopped, their legs relaxed and they went to sleep EVERT time!
You and Kraig are going to bed AWESOME parents to your sweet Chamblee... So enjoy the alone, quiet times...they are MUCH shorter than you think.
Love you girl!
Mrs. Faith
