"Hello. I'm Natalie Guffey, and I have a baby in my tummy."

I just ate the best meal, in the world. If it counts as a meal. I was craving some fried zucchini sticks, and K offered to make them for me. Mustard. I have to dip them in mustard, I thought. Oh. My. Mustard. I probably ate 3 zucchinis and finished off an entire mustard bottle. Ok, not really, but it sure feels like it. They were unbelievable- especially the ones he intentionally burned to a black and thick crisp- just for me. Ohhhhhhhhh the delight! I am happy to know that now I can eat whatever I want with no reservation of "how will this feel coming back up?" because surely that would have ruined this meal before I even got to taste its perfection. But that was last week. Last tri-mester. This is a new day. YES!

So... we had our 2nd doctor's appointment on Monday. We reported to the doctor's office and I had 7 vials of my blood taken- SEVEN!!! I hope not to hear from them at all. In this case, no news is good news. We got to see baby guff again!!! It will never get old:) The baby was totally flipping around and it appeared to have the hiccups. It's little body would be hanging out, sucking its thumb and all of the sudden do what looked like the wave with its whole body. SO CUTE. Here are a few shots:

"Hello. I am sticking my tongue out at you. Suckaaaaaas!"

Stretching Out

Face Forward. Whoa! Scary.

Tiny little hands over the face "No more pictures, please!"

Overall the check-up went really well. Other than the part where the doctor said in the next 3-4 weeks I would "blow up". Wow. Careful with your words, lady. While waiting (forever) in the waiting area at the doctor, K apparently read a few too many pamphlets and has me on a strict* work out regimen. "It will help with your labor, delivery and recovery." Ugh. He got educated. He's totally right. I have to get off the couch. (*By "strict" I mean he is making me workout, period, 3 times a week. Way more strict than my previous workout regimen of getting up to go to the bathroom 9 times an hour.) I have been bicycling! Laugh it up Biltmore girls, laugh. it. up. I actually enjoy bicycling. 30 minutes seems like no time. Plus, I figure it's working out the most important areas :) HA! Everything else on the mommy-front is good. I have been having some unusual cramping, which I am blaming on working out. OR, it could just be the stretching ligaments around my belly and a growing uterus. ? Who knows.

While riding my bike today, I was listening to Nichole Nordeman's "You Are Good" on my iPod. For whatever reason, I found myself listening to this song on repeat...over and over again. It's such an encouraging and truthful song. Lyrics are below! Happy Hump Day!

Until Next Time,
The Guff

You Are Good
Nichole Nordeman & Erin O'Donnell

When the sun starts to rise
And I open my eyes
You are good, so good
In the heat of the day
With each stone that I lay
You are good, so good

With ever breath I take in
I'll tell you I'm grateful again
When the moon climbs high
Before each kiss goodnight
You are good

When the road starts to turn
Around each bend I've learned
You are good so good
And when somebody's hand
Holds me up helps me stand
You are so good

With every breath I take in
I'll tell You I'm grateful again
'Cause its more than enough
Just to know I am loved
And You are good

So how can I thank You
What can I bring
What can these poor hands
Lay at the feet of a King
I'll sing You a love song
It's all that I have
To tell You I'm grateful
For holding my life in Your Hands

When it's dark and it's cold
And I can't feel my soul
You are so good
When the world is gone gray
And the rain's here to stay
You are still good

So with every breath I take in
I'll tell You I am grateful again
And the storm my swell
Even then it's well and You are good

Ain't that the truth! God is so good.
